JDRF (the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is Australia’s largest charitable supporter of type 1 diabetes research. It was founded in 1982 in Australia by a group of determined parents wanting to find a cure. To this day volunteers and partners play a huge role in helping JDRF deliver its mission - to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes.
There are over 122,300 children and adults in Australia with type 1 diabetes. More than 6 people in Australia are newly diagnosed every day and the incidence of the disease is rising.
