As a division of the non-profit Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), Canberra Technology Park (CTP) has core values aligned with education, industry innovation and development, job creation and building strong community relationships.

Education

Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is Australia’s most awarded 3D animation, game design and visual FX educator. Created as a non-profit organisation to grow the creative digital sector, AIE pioneered the development of specialist game qualifications and continues to innovate through industry partnerships and dynamic teaching. AIE’s vision is to continue to be the premier Games, Animation and Film VFX educator in Australia by supporting their graduates into meaningful employment opportunities and enterprise creation programs.

Games and Film VFX

The games, animation and film industries in Canberra are offered the opportunity to co-locate their emerging and established business at Canberra Technology Park. Businesses are encouraged to form meaningful relationships with AIE students and gain access to shared specialist facilities and collaborative opportunities.

Start-up Businesses

Because AIE is non-profit, their surpluses are reinvested back into programs to support students and industry job growth for graduates. Support for start-up businesses forms part of AIE’s broader goals of encouraging the growth of a strong regional industry. The AIE works tirelessly as an institution to support their graduates into meaningful employment opportunities and enterprise creation programs.

Canberra Technology Park has a large role to play through fostering and promoting the development of new and small businesses. CTP offers networking opportunities, mentoring, office accommodation and a wide range of support services.

As a non-profit registered training organisation, AIE is committed to being an active contributor to the local community through partnering with our students, tenants and neighbours to achieve mutually beneficial, sustainable facilities and positive outcomes.

Sustainability

Canberra Technology Park is focused on creating clean jobs in a non-CBD setting.

Environmental sustainability will be a prime objective of any future revitalisation of Canberra Technology Park. Water sensitive urban design requirements, energy efficient lighting, high efficiency heating and cooling and solar electricity generation are all future goals for the site.
